Roulette Etiquette

Like all casino games casino roulette has a set of rules about how you should behave whilst playing, it’s hardly surprising and many of them are basic common sense and yet many people will break these rules on a regular basis, so it is a good idea to check out the etiquette before you start playing any roulette games.

Timing your bet in casino roulette

One of the major issues with new roulette players is knowing when to put their chips down, the problem is of course that they either rush in and try and put them down before the dealer is ready or make the mistake of thinking they can put bets down after the spinner has called for no more bets.

Over excited roulette betting

There is nothing more frustrating than having your chips knocked over by an over excited newbie who thinks that there is some sort of hurry to place his chips down as if he’s going to miss his chance to win lots of money. Clearly this isn’t the case, but whilst it is only fair to give newbie’s the chance to get used to playing roulette games it does get rather annoying when they don’t display basic respect for the other players and or dealer.

Tipping

It is considered customary to tip the spinner every 10th spin or so when you play roulette, especially if you are winning, in fact if you are winning it is considered very bad manners not to tip your spinner.

Countries and their Rules

Make sure you are aware of the different styles of roulette you could be playing depending on where you are, rules vary and some casinos are far more strict on behaviour for example, you defiantly do not want to be thrown out or not notice a double 0 on an American table, you may have a nasty surprise once you start playing roulette games.

Finally, drink responsibly

Drinking and gambling go hand in hand, almost everybody in a casino will be drinking with the exception of the staff and why not, you’re all there to have fun right? While the answer to this is a resounding yes, it is not smart to blow all of your cash on drinks and then proceed to lose more money due to your inebriated state; certainly a casino owner is not likely to throw you out if you’re losing a lot of money at his casino. And be even more careful if you are playing roulette games online, even a well meaning member of staff won’t be able to tell if you’ve had too much to drink.
